Hey teens and 'tweens, If you're in the mood for another mystery, or if The Maltese Falcon doesn't appeal to you, here are some other fantastic books that you might enjoy. With mysteries ranging from the classic to the new, the humorous to the grim, books to graphic novels, there is something here to appeal to everybody.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle A collection of Sherlock Holmes mystery adventures. Recommended for grades 6-12.
Bad Kitty Volume 1: Catnipped by Michele Jaffe While vacationing with her family in Las Vegas, seventeen-year-old Jasmine stumbles upon a murder mystery that she attempts to solve with the help of her friends, recently arrived from California. Recommended for grades 7 and up.
The Bone Magician by F.E. Diamond of Drury Lane: A Cat Royal Adventure by Julia Golding Orphan Catherine "Cat" Royal, living at the Drury Lane Theater in 1790s London, tries to find the "diamond" supposedly hidden in the theater, which unmasks a treasonous political cartoonist, and involves her in the street gangs of Covent Garden and the world of nobility. Recommended for grades 6-8.
Down the Rabbit Hole: An Echo Falls Mystery by Peter Abrahams Like her idol Sherlock Holmes, eighth grader Ingrid Levin-Hill uses her intellect to solve a murder case in her home town of Echo Falls. Recommended for grades 6-9.
Finding Lubchenko by Michael Simmons When his father is framed for murder and bioterrorism, high-school junior Evan, using clues from a stolen laptop, travels from Seattle to Paris with two friends to find the real culprit. Recommended for grades 9 and up.
Half Moon Investigations by Eoin Colfer Fletcher Moon is a very bright kid who gets his certification for detective work but he gets framed by a crime family so he really has to work to clear his name. Recommended for grades 5-8.
Kiss Me Kill Me by Lauren Henderson Longing to be part of the in-crowd at her exclusive London school, orphaned, sixteen-year-old Scarlett, a trained gymnast, eagerly accepts an invitation to a party whose disastrous outcome changes her life forever. Recommended for grades 8-12.
The Maze of Bones by Rick Riordan (The 39 Clues #1) Dan and Amy Cahill make the decision to take the first Clue and begin the hunt for the 39 clues around the world to discover the source of their family's power. Recommended for grades 4-8.
The Ocean of Osyria by Scott Lobdell (Hardy Boys, Undercover Brothers #1) Joe and Frank Hardy find themselves in Osyria, then in Paris, France, as they try to recover a centuries-old necklace that was stolen. Recommended for grades 4-6
Paper Towns by John Green One month before graduating from his Central Florida high school, Quentin "Q" Jacobsen basks in the predictable boringness of his life until the beautiful and exciting Margo Roth Spiegelman, Q's neighbor and classmate, takes him on a midnight adventure and then mysteriously disappears. Recommended for grades 9-12.

Recommended for grades 4-8.
Something Rotten: A Horatio Wilkes Mystery by Alan Gratz In a contemporary story based on Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, Horatio Wilkes seeks to solve the murder of his friend Hamilton Prince's father in Denmark, Tennessee. Recommended for grades 10 and up.
